Ortano Beach is one of the most popular and charming beaches on the eastern side of Elba Island. About 150 meters long and up to 50 meters wide, it features a mix of smooth pebbles and sand, set within a lush and scenic valley.
Located at the end of the Ortano Valley, the beach overlooks clear, bright waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. To the south lies the rocky coast and the small Ortano Islet, which can be reached by swimming or walking along the shoreline and rock formations.
The area still preserves visible traces of its iron mining past, including parts of an old loading pier and the former transport route used for ore carts.
The beach faces eastward and is equipped with anti-jellyfish nets, offering safer bathing during the summer months. Its environment combines lively seaside life with unspoiled nature.
