The Teatro delle Miniere is a striking open-air theatre set within the ancient mines of Rio Marina, on the east coast of Elba. Every summer, between July and September, the theatre hosts operas, concerts, plays and musical events, transforming the former mining site into a stunning natural stage. During the summer, the programme also extends to the squares of the villages in the Rio area: mobile stages are set up in picturesque settings, bringing theatre and musical performances to the heart of the villages and involving residents and visitors in a convivial and participatory atmosphere.
