Padreterno Church

The Church of the Eternal Father and the Holy Trinity is located in the area of the same name in Rio nell’Elba. Originally built in the 15th century, like many of the island’s historical religious buildings, it was reconstructed in the 18th century in a late Baroque style, which defines its current appearance.

The façade features an elegant portico, while a bell tower rises alongside the church, completing its architectural profile. Inside, a noteworthy 18th-century painting depicting the Crucifix with God the Father and the Holy Spirit highlights the dedication of the church to the Holy Trinity as well as to the Eternal Father.

In the choir, visitors can also admire a painting of the Madonna of Mount Carmel with Saints Paul and Anthony, linked to the confraternity of Saint Anthony Abbot. The combination of artworks and architectural simplicity makes this church an important testimony to the religious traditions of Elba.
